I love when a client honors me by requesting a portrait of a person or people they care about. For me the greatest challenge is to achieve not just a physical likeness, but also the personality and character of the person I’m painting. When that happens, and my client can see the person he or she knows so well in my painting, I am moved at having been able to participate in something that means so much to another person!

This video shows the stages of my painting of the couple in “Young Love,” who is a few weeks away from their wedding. Usually, I like to produce a video as a portrait progresses to pass on to the recipient so they can enjoy the process that went into the painting.
